Alex Gueorguieva

My research focus is on elucidating the biosynthetic pathways of bioactive diterpenoids. I study the anti-cancer agents Taxol and Pseudolaric Acid B, as well as Cafestol and Kahweol in coffee. I am very interested in how we can leverage these natural plant systems to provide creative solutions to global problems in public health, agriculture, and our changing environment. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and exploring new places as well as staying active and playing sports like soccer and tennis.
